Ongoing project
Whenever I make someone a hot drink, I really take a moment to choose their mug. This made me think of my friends and what their favourite mugs are.

"There are few things I really like about it,
One: It's got like, quite a kind of simple, but kind of unique shape to it.
Two: it's a great colour.
Three: i'm guessing it's handmade. Um, I'm guessing...no idea.
And four: My friend, Jamie got me it for my 30th birthday. So it has a kind of a special significance in that sense. "

What's your favourite time of day to drink something from your mug?
"Um, I would say…I'm quite an early riser, so I have a tea and I can sit in bed for a bit at about 7:30. I enjoy that moment of the day."
"This is my mug. It was a secret santa gift from our friend Simon.
It's from the TV show, The West Wing. And it's got the seal of the fictional president, who is basically the person I tried emulate my life. So, I can drink from this mug and sort of, try to pretend to be my favourite fictional character. "

Okay this is…well it's actually Michael's mug that I've seemingly adopted since we've lived here. It has a map of the lakes on it, which I…it’s kind of sentimental because it’s where we spent lockdown and it's kind of a bit like old-fashioned, vintage, which I quite like.
It's quite, it's quite thin and light, which I feel like is a weird thing but it's a sort of thing that my Mum would comment on, like, oh it’s a nice light mug.
So yeah, that is my mug. And I also, Like i’m terrible with directions so it reminds me, because it's kind of like a map as well, so it kind of reminds me where we've been and where we went on various, kind of, walks and things during lockdown as well. So it’s good, memories.

Simon (To the cat): Come on, you can be a movie star!
Kya: She’s shy! Right, come on, focus
Do you have a place in your flat that you like to sit when you have your hot drink?
S: In bed
K: In the morning, it's always in bed. Yeah, yeah. But I was actually just saying to Simon, (who's been away), that, when he's here, I drink it in bed with him, but when he's not, I just get up and I drink it as I get ready. Which he was absolutely horrified by.
S: That’s savage.
S: So this is my mug. It's nice and very white. Um, i was bought it by Kya as a present for - ahead of moving in together. And it was made by Kya’s friend Charlie. And yeah, it’s my favourite it is really big.
K: This is my mug.
Wonder Woman. Um, so this is my favourite mug because I shouldn't really have it, and my mom's ex-boyfriend's daughter left it at my Mum’s house and then they broke up and I hid it so she couldn't give it back to her. So it feels like I've really laboured for it, and I am just quite proud of that.
